This weekend we celebrated our first excursion as co-owners of 12 completely undeveloped, gorgeous acres in Northern New Mexico!
The property is in Northern New Mexico on Highway 96 with Abiquiu to the east and Cuba to the west, between Coyote and Gallina. It sits right along the Continental Divide Trail and the Old Spanish National Historic Trail. We have seen 3-4 CDT hikers per day along this route. This is the land that Georgia O’Keefe painted. We hope to make it a camping/excursion base camp for friends and family.
We picked up trash, reset posts, hiked and got really muddy. So much barbed wire! We also met our wizened neighbor, who along with his wife has lived in the area for 80 years. He let us know that the elk will be migrating through our property in September and November.
Hope to meet up with you there!
